SGL says that it will showcase a range of its fiber composites for mobility and industrial applications at the China Composites Expo, taking place in Shanghai, China, from 3–5 September.
This includes the company’s Sigrafil carbon fibers, textile semi-finished products and Refrasil silica-based materials, which have been developed for high-temperature applications in the aerospace industry. A carrier for the rear spoiler of a sports car manufacturer will also be on display.
‘Fiber-reinforced composites are used in numerous growth industries,’ said Dennis Baumann, Head of composites fibers and materials at SGL Carbon. ‘Especially in China, the demand for composite materials has increased continuously in recent years.’
