Redelease, one of the main distributors of specialty chemicals in Brazil, has expanded its supply of semi-permanent release agents for composites manufacturers.

From now on, Redelease will offer, in addition to Chem-Trend´s Chemlease range, Marbocote’s semi-permanent release agents. Redelease will also supply the market with Ycon semi-permanent release agents.

The decision to expand the portfolio was motivated by the wide variety of composite molding processes currently employed in Brazil, according to Roberto Iacovella, CEO of Redelease. ‘In the past, technologies were basically manuals and in open molds,’ he said. ‘Over time, Brazilians molders have access to more modern systems of processing, such as RTM, filament winding, pultrusion and infusion, which requires more specific release agents.’

Redelease is responsible for the introduction in Brazil, in 1997, of the concept of semi-permanent mold release of composite parts.
