Porcher Industries has opened a new manufacturing site in Jiaxing, eastern China.

Porcher says that the site will initially manufacture 8 million m2 of material intended for airbag production, while in the future the company plans to offer a broader range of technical textiles and thermoplastic material for the aerospace and industrial sectors.

The site is funded with a US$56 million cash investment, supported by the regional government and local development zone.

‘By investing in this site in China, we have secured our place in probably the most dynamic economy in the world today,’ said Ian Burgess, MD of Warwick Capital, which invested in the site.
