PlastiComp unveils tough thermoplastic composites

According to PlastiComp, Complet® MT maximum toughness long fibre thermoplastic (LFT) polyamides also have equivalent strength to industry standard LFT polyamides.

Reinforced with long glass fibre up to 60% by weight, MT composites are also reported to offer outstanding injection moulding processing characteristics and are capable of producing complex geometries with thin wall sections.

The materials can be coloured and are also suitable for structural applications having aesthetic requirements. Applications include performance sporting goods, consumer durables, and heavy appliances.

PlastiComp, headquartered in the USA, focuses on long fibre reinforced thermoplastic composite technology, both LFT (long fibre reinforced thermoplastic pellets) and D-LFT (direct long fibre reinforced thermoplastic), and D-GMT (direct glass mat thermoplastic) direct in-line compounding technologies. Complet® composite pellets, produced with LFT technology, are made for the injection moulding market in standard as well as custom formulations.
