Vesa Korpimies receives the 2011 Pultruder of the Year Award

Gregory Tilton has joined the Molded Fiber Glass Companies (MFG), Astabula, Ohio, USA, as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Tilton was previously senior vice president of operations for U.S. Cotton, a supplier of cotton based consumer products in North America.

MFG has also announced the appointment of Gary Kanaby to the newly created position of director of sales for wind energy. He will assume responsibility for Wind Energy Services Company (WES), based in Gainesville, Texas, as well as MFG’s composite blade manufacturing entities in North America.

For the last decade Kanaby has been involved in the wind blade manufacturing and service business, most recently as an independent consultant with Knight & Carver Wind Group.

Vesa Korpimies, CEOof Exel Composites, Finland, has been presented with the 2011 Brandt Goldsworthy Pultruder of the Year Award.

An online voting procedure between 8 nominated pultrusion experts from around the world resulted in 4 finalists. Out of these Korpimies was elected through a secret ballot by the delegates of the 3rd Global Pultrusion Conference at Marne-la-Vallée, France.

Korpimies received the award for growing Exel from a small Finnish pultrusion company in the early 1990s, active in the sports market, to a leading global pultrusion company focusing on industrial applications with a turnover in excess of €73 million.
