According to the company, the line converts master rolls of thermoset materials into slit tapes ranging from 3mm to 12.7mm which are then wound onto long-length spools, all in a controlled aerospace-grade environment. It expands the company’s existing composite cutting, kitting and thermoplastic slitting services.
Omega says that the technology is qualified for all major automated fiber placement (AFP) systems.
“Customers will benefit from our large-scale aerospace-quality production capacities, allowing them to reduce costs through economies of scale and get their products to market faster,” said Sebastian Fehl, Web Industries’ director of operations for Europe.
