The first ALABUGA-FIBER capacity line will produce 1,700 metric tons which will eventually be increased to around 2,000 metric tons. The company’s new site in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia could go up to 10,000 metric tons or more making it the largest carbonization facility in the world, according to the company.
The line is suitable for large-scale carbon fiber based applications such as automotive and wind energy. The ALABUGA-FIBER manufacturing line features a feeding precursor from bobbins (up to 300 kg), thermal stabilization energy efficient oxidation ovens and carbonization furnaces,advanced surface treatment, sizing and drying and collection and packinging on spools (up to 8 kg).
Global trend
Currently the following types of carbon fiber are available: Alabuga-Fiber AF42 12? and Alabuga-Fiber AF42 24? (available late in 2015).
