LISA Airplanes launches AKOYA light aircraft

The AKOYA.
The AKOYA.

French company LISA Airplanes' AKOYA is manufactured from composite materials and powered by a 100 hp engine.

The aircraft features patented Multi-Access™ technology which enables it to take off and land on land, water or snow. The AKOYA can take off and land over less than 200 m (650 ft). Pivoting wings enable it to be stored and transported with ease.

With 70 litres (18.5 US gallons) of unleaded fuel, the AKOYA can fly over 1100 km (680 miles) at a speed above 210 km/h (130 mph).

LISA Airplanes is currently carrying out flight tests on its pre-series aircraft in France. The company anticipates receiving LSA (Light Sport Aircraft) certification (the new American standard that is to become an international standard) in mid 2012. This will be followed by delivery to first customers.

The €300 000 (excluding tax) sales price of the AKOYA includes pilot training for the three types of landing, three years of maintenance and full-time customer assistance.
