IPS acquires Holdtite Adhesives

The combination of the two adhesive manufacturers is said to result in a global company with broader range of structural adhesive products for the industrial and commercial markets.

“This merger is driven by our mission to provide Smarter Adhesive Solutions on a global scale to the markets we serve," explains John Reeves, President of IPS Structural Adhesives. "The product lines of the current companies have very little overlap allowing us to synergistically expand our technology offering globally. Our customers value us as true solution providers and now we are able to enhance our abilities with a much broader technology platform.”

IPS Weld-On Structural Adhesives are high strength methacrylate adhesives for use in the marine, transportation, building and construction, wind energy, and industrial sectors. Holdtite's range includes anaerobic, cyanoacrylate and UV-curable technologies.

The best practices of each company will be adopted to create a world-class organisation. IPS, headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, plans to invest in the Holdtite facilities and processes to implement manufacturing and technical service models that have proven successful in North America. IPS will adopt the information systems currently employed by Holdtite, located in Newcastle, UK.

The new company will be able to offer its expanded product range to a larger variety of markets. IPS and Holdtite have extensive experience in the marine, automotive, automotive aftermarket, bus/truck/rail, building, product assembly, solid surface, sign display and other markets.

“We are very excited to introduce the excellent Holdtite technologies into the North American market and likewise to have a UK manufacturing and sales presence to properly support IPS’s efforts throughout Europe," says Keith Darnell, Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
