With an investment of €1 million, two new mixers have been installed and are now fully operational.

The new mixer in the Scott Bader Wollaston, UK, plant is for the production of the Crestabond range of primerless methyl methacrylate (MMA) structural adhesives, which were launched in 2010. This additional capacity has been installed in response to growth in sales and new orders over the last 18 months for both 400 ml cartridges of Crestabond and bulk 20 litre pails or 200 litre drums for use with proprietary dosing machines.

This major investment in additional state-of-the-art mixing equipment for two of our key speciality product lines confirms our intention to be a major player in the European and global adhesives and gel-coat markets.

In Amiens, France, a new large volume gel-coat mixer has been installed. This provides extra capacity for the range of speciality Crystic gel-coats produced on the site. Scott Bader France handles orders, not only from French gel-coat customers, but also from Spain, Germany and other parts of mainland Europe. The additional mixer has enabled the Amiens production team to reduce lead times while handling a larger number of orders. Continued growth has been experienced during 2010 and 2011 for speciailty Crystic gel-coats, particularly for transportation, building and marine applications.
