Intertek adds that there is a growing demand for independent test centres where the expertise and specialist equipment is available on demand on a turnkey, project-by-project basis.
Intertek expanded its Pittsfield, Massachusetts laboratory in 2010 and has now created a European composites test centre, as part of its polymer testing laboratory in Geleen. Intertek says that the expansion now enables it to support major client programmes in both North America and Europe.
Intertek’s Country Managing Director Benelux Eric Ris said: “There are few composites test centres in Europe offering ‘on demand’ quality control and innovation support from dedicated experts. Our expansion with such a facility supports the regional and global demand by being joined closely with our North American centre. Moreover, as an extension of the existing range of services, a comprehensive portfolio can be offered to industries using and working with composites and advanced materials of all types; including laboratory testing, embedded technical experts, regulatory support, supply chain management and business assurance support.”
