Gordon Holdings expanding Polystrand business

Polystrand, a manufacturer of fibre reinforced thermoplastic composite materials, will expand from Montrose, Colorado, USA,  to Douglas County, Colorado. Gordon Composites will maintain its manufacturing facility in Montrose along with Polystrand’s current operations.

Mike Gordon, president of Gordon Holdings, said the move is being made to support the company’s growth. The new Polystrand facility will have 120 000 ft2 of manufacturing and office space for its corporate headquarters, which is more than double the size of its existing facilities in Montrose.

The new facility will be in the HighField Business Park just southeast of Centennial Airport near E-470 and Peoria. The company has agreed to take 16.6 acres of the 100 net acres at HighField Business Park. The deal is expected to generate up to 240 new jobs to Douglas County in the coming years.

Founded in 2004, Polystrand Inc's material combines continuous fibres and thermoplastic resin into ribbons or coils that can be heated and reformed to create composite products for the trucking, automotive, air cargo, wind energy and other industries. The company makes ThermoBallistic™ products for ballistic applications and ThermoPro™ products for commercial and industrial applications.
