Plans are to develop a process whereby when a wind blade is decommissioned, the best recycling process will be selected according to the condition of the blade and current market demand using track tools and “decision-making software”.
The project is funded by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) and will reportedly last 48 months.
“The Refresh project perfectly aligns with EuCIA’s ongoing initiatives to promote the sustainability of composite materials and improve their circularity,” said Roberto Frassine, president of EuCIA.
