This new coating line more than doubles the company's capacity for nickel coated fibres, and improves their supply chain and pricing.
In parallel to this, Conductive Composites, which specialises in the creation of materials that enable electrical conductivity and electromagnetic capabilities in composites and plastics, has developed nickel CVD coated aramid fibres. It says that the CVD coating process provides a highly ductile and uniform metal coating, with better handling characteristics than electroplated fibres in a high strength lightweight format.
“The addition of CVD coated aramids to our commercial product lines opens up new possibilities for our high performance conductive fibres," says George Hansen, Founder and Chief Technical Officer, Conductive Composites.
"We look forward to continuing to bring enabling materials to the conductivity and shielding markets.”
