Composites Innovation Cluster celebrates success

The UK’s Composites Innovation Cluster (CiC), the largest single collaborative R&D program in the composites industry, has announced a final public event on 17 November at the Westminster Conference Centre in London to celebrate the partners’ success.

After five years of work with a total spend of £22 million focusing on the lightweighting of composites, this event will bring together government and industry to share the positive impact the Cluster has had on the composites supply chain as the programme comes to a successful close.

At the event, attendees will see and hear about the composites capability demonstrated by the program, from complete propeller blades to full vehicle chassis, from thermoplastics to graphene-enhanced composites.

The 31 partners who worked on 17 projects between them produced a range of demonstrators across the gamut of the composite value chain, including CAE, FEA, design for manufacture, automation, over moulding, HP-RTM and liquid resin infusion. Registrations are now being taken via Eventbrite, where the program can also be found.
