China XD Plastics announces thermoplastics site in Southwest China

China XD (NASDAQ: CXDC) manufactures thermoplastic compounds, including glass fibre reinforced products, primarily for automotive applications. The company's products are used in trim and functional components of 80 models manufactured in China, including Audi, BMW and Toyota.

The expansion project is located in Nanchong City, Sichuan province. Several automotive companies, including First Automobile Group, Shanghai GM and Volvo, are located within a 500 km radius of the site.

The region is also home to a number of rail and aircraft companies.

China XD Plastics plans to complete the project in approximately two years. It is also constructing three production bases in Northeastern China.
