AOC introduces vinyl ester resins for cured-in-place pipe

CIPP is a trenchless method used to repair existing pipelines and is often used in the rehabilitation of water, sewer, gas and chemical pipe.

AOC says that Vipel L085-PPA Series resins offer proven corrosion resistance, durability and toughness in formulation packages that are designed for CIPP processing.

The resins' epoxy novolac chemistry provides superior resistance to acids, bases and many organic solvents. The vinyl ester is also said to perform exceptionally well at high temperatures with a heat distortion temperature (per ASTM D648) of 300°F (149°C).

“Our CIPP line is the most complete in the industry and also includes ultra-low volatile organic compound (VOC) resins for emission- and odour-sensitive projects, as well as renewable- and recycled-content resins," reports Fletcher Lindberg, Business Manager, Open Mold Reinforced Resins, AOC.

"Our experienced technical service team can customise formulations to meet project-specific handling and process requirements.”

Vipel L085-PPA resins will be featured in the AOC booths at the 2012 Underground Construction Technology (UCT) International Conference and Exhibition, 24-26 January in San Antonio, Texas, USA, and the 2012 No-Dig Show, 11-25 March, Nashville, Tennessee.
