To meet increasing demand for composite materials in the 1990s, US headquartered Airtech Advanced Materials Group, a manufacturer of vacuum bagging and composite tooling materials for the composites, bonding and tooling industries, decided to establish a division in Europe.
Airtech Europe in Differdange, Luxembourg, started out in 1991 with 6 employees and a building area of 3 300 m2. Today, it occupies an area of 15 100 m2 and employs more than 450 people, 112 of these working in Luxemburg.
"The enquiries from our customers show that the composites materials are on its way to be established in almost all industrial areas," says confirms Wolfgang Stratmann, General Manager of Airtech Europe.
"It further shows that Airtech could reinforce its position as a leader in vacuum bagging and composite tooling technology by investing in the right material developments and production methods.”
