Aircraft recycling symposium

The two-day Symposium on 29-30 September in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, is scheduled to focus on:

  • the economics of recycling;
  • managing end-of-life processes;
  • waste reduction;
  • structural and materials recycling;
  • recycling carbon fibre composite;
  • future recycling targets; and
  • more efficient recycling processes.

It will cover civil and military airframes, engines and power plants, landing gear, avionics and cabin interiors.

“The aero industry is consciously aware of its environmental impact – let alone the fact that every $1 million of aircraft scrap can create up to $10 million of value in recycling – so, our inaugural recycling symposium will surely hit hot buttons throughout the aviation and environmental communities,” says Conference Director Ben Drew.

The Global Aircraft Recycling Symposium is co-locating with the Aero & Defense Test 09/International Test & Evaluation Association (ITEA) Annual Symposium, an event for aerospace and defence research and development and operational test and evaluation professionals.
