Finmeccanica subsidiary Alenia Aeronautica will provide technology, technical assistance and specialised training, and transfer composite aerostructure manufacturing work to Mubadala’s new composites plant in Abu Dhabi. Alenia will also help Mubadala with developing manufacturing processes required for international industrial certifications.The Abu Dhabi plant will manufacture composite components such as spoilers, flap-track fairings, and through the partnership, Mubadala will also develop primary structures including outboard flaps, horizontal and vertical stabilisers. Full capacity is expected by 2011.
