Airborne focuses on lightweight materials

Automation equipment manufacturer Airborne says that it is collaborating with lightweight materials consulting company AMAC to develop its presence in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The company says that it is looking for partnerships to develop business opportunities in the aerospace and automotive markets, developing composites with reduced costs, labor and footprint. Airborne currently focuses on automated honeycomb potting, kitting and lamination of thermosets and thermoplastics.

‘Airborne has a strong background in composite manufacturing at industrial scale and is leveraging this to help composite production companies to improve efficiency with smart and digital automation solutions,’ said Marcus Kremers, CTO of Airborne.

The company has also become a member of engineering partnership AZL in Aachen, Germany.
