Abaris completes composites training for British Airways and Airbus UK

British Airways (BA) has contracted for four separate sets of Phase 1 and Phase 2 classes in Advanced Composite Fabrication & Damage Repair for roughly 12 students each from its subsidiary British Airways Maintenance Cardiff (BAMC), near Cardiff International Airport in Wales. This facility performs heavy maintenance and cabin refits for BA’s long haul fleet, including 747, 767 and 777 aircraft.

Meanwhile, Abaris has completed customised on-site classes at the Airbus Broughton, UK, production facility, where the wings for all Airbus civil aircraft are produced, including those for the new A350 XWB.

Three 5-day classes were conducted to support A350 manufacturing, including advanced composite repair techniques for possible light manufacturing rework and repair to foreign object damage.
