Updated bridge design software

Software company Allplan has updated its 4D building information modeling (BIM) software for bridge design and structural analysis.

According to the company, the update makes it possible to calculate live loads and influence lines as well as make code-based design and exchange analytical models.

‘We are noticing a growing demand for BIM in bridge construction to meet the challenges of the industry, such as planning attractive and permanently safe bridges on time and within budget, worldwide,’ said Vanja Samec, MD of Allplan Infrastructure.

3D models created with the software can now be displayed in two different views; the first visualizing the geometrical model with all the details defined while modelling, and the second displaying the automatically derived analytical model reduced to its statically relevant component.
