Bonding specialist Powdertech and bigHead Fasteners Ltd say that they are researching the bonding of metal fasteners to polypropylene (PP).
According to Powdertech PP, its PowderBond PP material can carry out a stronger polypropylene-to-aluminium bond than those offered by other products and systems on the market, demonstrating tensile bonds strengths greater than 10MPa. The composite also needs no pre-treatment and the process is rapid and repeatable, the company said.
