Thai composites specialist Cobra International has worked with a surfboard manufacturer to develop an improved version of its eFoil products.

Cobra initially worked with Fliteboard to develop its range of electric foiling (eFoil) surfboards in 2016 and has now increased production capacity and incorporated new board features into the existing production processes.

The new boards feature a carbon fiber and Innegra sandwich laminate over a molded expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam core, with several new finishes added to the range along with lighter colour matched EVA deck pads and improved latches on the carbon fiber board lid.  They can also have new wood grain and metallic paint finishes with Cobra’s semi-transparent paint system.

Cobra has also been able to remove all electronic systems from the board and incorporate Fliteboard’s patent pending wireless connectivity improvements that let radio frequency (RF). signals travel easily through the board.

Fliteboard has also developed a smaller and lighter surfboard with a volume of only 54 litres.
