Hydrogen storage for fuel cell vehicles

Carbon ThreeSixty, which designs and manufactures composite structures, is reportedly leading a project to develop a high-pressure hydrogen storage system for use in fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).

The high-density energy network (Hi-DEN) project will build and test a functional prototype hydrogen storage for a range of FCEVs manufactured by powertrain specialist Viritech, the company said.

As part of the project, textile specialist Antich & Sons will develop 3D woven preforms for the vessels and Viritech will develop a tank and fill control system and integrate the vessels into the powertrain.
