Bedford Reinforced Plastics has launched a glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) ladder which it says is lightweight and can be cut with standard carpentry tools.

According to company, the ReadyLadder modular access ladder system is stocked in standard 10, 15 and 20 foot lengths, while sections can be connected and trimmed to make the right size ladder for nearly any application.

The ladder also meets OSHA requirements for load and design, with safety yellow integrally pigmented throughout the ladder, with the material made using flame-retardant resins and UV inhibitors, Bedford said. It can also reportedly withstand high humidity, saltwater, insects, harsh climates and other tough environments making it suitable for mining, oil and gas, plant and chemical processing, wastewater and water treatment.
