The two 4 kW wind turbines have been placed at the prow of the ship, and in addition to producing electricity for the ship’s grid, they will also help reduce air resistance, resulting in lower fuel consumption.

“The two turbines will generate about 23,000 kWh per year, equivalent to the domestic electricity consumption for four normal homes during one year. Among other things, the electricity will be used to power the lighting on the Jutlandica’s car deck,” says Robert Åklund, Director Technical & HR at Stena Line.
