"A selection process for a replacement has been initiated and until a candidate has been selected Servet Sert, senior vice- president of industrialisation in Vestas Technology and Service Solutions will serve as the head of wind capture systems and managing director of Vestas R&D UK,” said a spokesperson.
"Rob will remain with Vestas until April 2014. He has successfully led and grown Vestas' blades development organisation throughout the past 25 years and we thank him for his dedication and leadership in this area."
Based on the Isle of Wight, off the south coast of the UK, the Vestas R&D facility develops cutting-edge blade technology.
