TPI Composites to supply wind turbine blades to Gamesa

US-headquartered TPI, a manufacturer of composite products for the wind energy, military and transportation markets, will supply the blades from its factory in Juarez, Mexico.

“We look forward to working closely with Gamesa to continue its quest to drive down the levelised cost of energy (LCOE) for wind which will help to strengthen and stabilise its key target markets."
Steve Lockard, President & CEO, TPI Composites

Gamesa, headquartered in Spain, will use the blades to serve wind projects in the US and Mexico as well as for export to other emerging regional markets. Gamesa has production centres in Spain and China, as well as local production capacity in India, US, and Brazil.

TPI’s Juarez factory was formerly operated as a joint venture under the name of VienTek and is now 100% owned by TPI. TPI says it is in the process of rehiring about 600 former VienTek employees.
