TPI, a US-based supplier of composite products to the wind energy, military, and transportation markets, launched the wind turbine blade manufacturing business in 2012 with Turkish partner ALKE ÎNSAAT.
TPI has invested more than $35 million to fully capitalise the Turkey operation, including a complete upgrade to its 355,000 ft2 building.
“We are very pleased to have signed long-term agreements for our initial capacity in Turkey with leading customers in the region,” reports Steve Lockard, President & CEO of TPI Composites.
In 2013, TPI announced a deal to manufacture blades in Turkey for German turbine manufacturer Nordex.
