Toray reports that it will be establishing a resin compound base in Europe for the first time. Zoltek Companies, a Toray subsidiary which makes industrial grade carbon fiber, will house the Toray operation in its facility in Nyergesújfalu, Hungary.

According to Toray, the Zoltek property is a suitable space to build its new PPS resin compound production facility due to the central location within Europe. While the production facility will operate alongside Zoltek and will use already established infrastructure, it will operate as a division of Toray. Zoltek will continue to produce its carbon and oxidized fiber products at the Hungarian facility.

‘We are pleased to support the Toray resin business in Europe and we look forward to the positive effect this will have on the automotive industry,’ said Zoltek president and CEO, Yoshihiro Takeuchi.
