The first location will cover environmental (such as energy-saving housing materials) and new energy-related materials development, while the second will cover automobile applications, the company said.
The center will work with Toray’s advanced materials research laboratories, established in Shanghai China in 2012, and automotive center, set up in Munich Germany in 2018.
According to the company, environmental and mobility markets have expanded and diversified around the world in recent years, following efforts to virtually eliminate greenhouse gas emissions and the promotion of electromotive vehicles, such as urban air mobility, drones, and small electric mobility vehicles.
