Teijin showcases carbon and aramid at China Composites Expo 2012

The two Teijin booths will showcase new concepts for carbon and aramid fibre reinforced composites.

Toho Tenax will show applications of carbon fibre reinforced plastics, including large-scale model aircraft for racing and smartphone and tablet casings made with ultra-lightweight carbon fibre fabrics, plus other moulded products such as bicycle wheels and automotive diffusers.

Teijin Aramid Asia will introduce two filament yarns – Twaron Black and Technora Black – both deep-black coloured versions of high-modulus para-aramid fibres that were originally launched in gold colour. They are suited to applications requiring strength, weight reduction and good looks, such as mobile phone casings, boat sails, hockey sticks and other sporting goods. Other applications, such as reinforcements for concrete, ships and gears/bearings, will also be introduced.

China Composites Expo 2012, Asia’s largest composites exhibition, which will take place at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center on 5-7 September.
