Plastics organization Aimplas has formed a project focused on developing coatings for floors, furniture, paint, composites and ceramics to purify the indoor environment of buildings and photodegrade substances such as formaldehyde.
The Ambicoat project is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and includes Universitat de València, Omar Coatings, Pectro, ITC and Keraben as participants. It aims in particular to develop porous organometallic compounds (MOFs) that allow photodegrading formaldehyde. As part of the project, Aimplas will develop the scattering method in liquid resins and apply the coatings.
