Spirit AeroSystems’ Q2

Aerospace specialist Spirit AeroSystems reports operating income for Q2 2017 of US$82.8 million, down compared to US$83.3 million in the same period of 2016.

The company delivered  424 shipsets compared to 408 shipsets in the same period last year, primarily driven by the ramp-up in production rates on the 737, the A320, and the A350 programs. Q2 2017 revenue was US$1.8 billion, reportedly ‘consistent’ with the same period of 2016 and primarily driven by higher production deliveries on the Boeing 737 and Airbus A350 XWB programs and offset by lower production deliveries on the Boeing 777 program and decreased Global Customer Support and Services activity, the company said.

Spirit's backlog at the end Q2 2017 was approximately US$46 billion.
