Spatial Composite wins $2.6 million Oman Air cabin trainer contract

Under the contract, Spatial Composite will design and build Airbus A330-300 and Boeing B737 aircraft NG Emergency Evacuation Trainers which will be installed at Oman Air’s new Aviation Crew Training facility at Muscat International Airport, Oman.

Delivery is scheduled for October 2010.

Designed to create a realistic cabin environment for safety training procedures, Emergency Evacuation Trainers are custom made to replicate Oman Air's A330 and B737 aircraft cabin layout, incorporating flight deck, fully operational doors and evacuation slides. They are built using fire retardant composite materials and are equipped with smoke and fire simulation, decompression and sound effects.

"At Oman Air we invest in high quality training facilities for our crew and we are delighted to partner with Spatial Composite Solutions in developing the latest Cabin Evacuation Trainers," comments Peter Hill, CEO of Oman Air. "These devices are equipped with the latest crew training technology and will provide our growing team of cabin staff with the best environment in which to hone their safety training skills.”

Founded in 2007, Spatial Composite Solutions claims to be the only specialist manufacturer of cabin crew training equipment in the Middle East. The company creates 1:1 scale replicas of Airbus and Boeing aircraft cabin interiors which provide a realistic environment for cabin crew training.
