SO.F.TER. introduces natural fibre reinforced composites

SO.F.TER. says these products have been developed to fulfill the growing demand for sustainable materials. The composites are fully recyclable and contain fibres coming from renewable sources such as flax, sisal and hemp.

The natural fibre reinforced composites are reported to have similar properties to glass fibre reinforced composites but weigh 10% less. They also offer better sound-deadening and anti-vibrating properties as well as improved resistance to shock and high temperatures.

Natural fibre composites are said to be particularly suitable for the automotive industry, for the production of internal parts and panels, but they could also be used in visible parts.

SO.F.TER. SpA is headquartered in Forlì, Italy, and has production units in Mexico and Brazil.

SO.F.TER. will exhibit on stand 6A58, Hall 6, at the K 2010 International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany, on 27 October-4 November.
