Sigmatex consolidates US operations

Sigmatex says that it has accelerated its plans to ‘consolidate its operational footprint’ in the US.

This will involve expanding its Orangeburg, South Carolina plant, the company said. The plant built in 2016, offers expansion potential and already houses weaving and multiaxial cell. Sigmatex says that it plans to increase its weaving capacity and investment in related technologies. ‘The creation of one large, agile and efficient operational base that embraces true manufacturing excellence practices will strengthen our value proposition and enable us to better meet the needs of our current and future customers,’ said Paul McMullan, Group CEO. ‘Such decisions are always incredibly difficult to make, but we must adapt and evolve to the changing market situation.’
