Sharp & Tappin launches mini composite plate saw

The mini composite plate saw has a capacity of 300×600mm, with a cut depth of 30mm and blade size of 150-250mm. It is particularly suited to use alongside bench top test machines in a number of industry sectors, including automotive, aerospace, defence, materials manufacture, marine and medical.

Sharp & Tappin says that its composite plate saws achieve fast and accurate cutting of components with a good surface finish. The machines are said to be easy to programme, can be part-programmed to store the machining sequences for specific parts and will handle a diverse range of materials – carbon/glass composites, aluminium plate/honeycomb, thermoplastics, resins and hybrid materials.
