SGL Group reports that it has won the biggest single order for graphite shell and tube heat exchangers in its history. Placed last month by KGHM Polska Miedz, a large producer of copper and silver, the order comprises the supply of graphite shell and tube heat exchangers used for the cooling of a wash liquor containing sulfuric acid. The order has a low single-digit million euro volume.
The heat exchangers are equipped with SGL Group’s DIABON graphite tubes covered with CARBOGUARD carbon fiber wrapping.
