SGL Carbon has installed a photovoltaic (solar panel) system on the roof of its manufacturing plant in Ort im Innkreis, Austria.
The facility is used to produce fiber composite components for the automotive industry in large series.
According to the company, the new system has a capacity of almost 450 kWp which saves around 30 tons of CO2 per year. The self-consumption rate is over 95%, which means that the electricity generated is consumed directly in the company's own operations.
