According to Scott Bader, a UK-headquartered manufacturer of unsaturated polyester resins and gel-coats, structural adhesives and bonding pastes, this acquisition will make it a global leader in the structural adhesives and bonding pastes business, with a full range of technologies and the manufacturing capabilities to meet the needs of composites customers.

This acquisition is part of Scott Bader's new strategy to take it through to 2020. This has involved the creation of an Adhesives and Advanced Composites business unit. “The key change for us going forward is a much stronger focus on globalising some key product technologies that we believe we’ve got, and the organisational change to deliver that,” explains Malcolm Forsyth, Global Director of this new business. ATC, based in Burlington, Ontario, sells its compounds to the boat building and composites industries under the Poly-Bond®, Core-Bond®, Poly-Fair® and Poly-Fill® trade names.

The Scott Bader Inc USA office located in Stow, Ohio will continue to sell Scott Bader’s Crystic® resins and speciality chemicals.
