The Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO) says that the first postgraduate course in composites and polymers based in São Paulo, Brazil, will begin in August 2020.

Due to social isolation, classes will be online throughout this year and in person from 2021, the association said, with some sessions taking place at the Light Structures Center, São José dos Campos. In all, the course will have 360 ??hours.

The course, formed by a partnership between ALMACO and the Brazillian Institute of Technological Research (IPT), is aimed at professionals in the areas of engineering, architecture, design and administration, in addition to people interested in deepening their knowledge in the area.

‘Since 2012, when we launched the postgraduate course, we had the objective of bringing it to São Paulo, the largest composites market in the country. Now, with the support of IPT, we have managed to make this project possible,’ said Erika Bernardino Aprá, president of ALMACO.

The postgraduate faculty in São Paulo includes researchers linked to the IPT and professionals with extensive experience in composites, many of them with outstanding performance in the main companies in the sector.
