REpower Systems sees revenue rise by 23%

By Isabella Kaminski

REpower Systems' revenue has risen to €262.5 million (£232m), according to the company’s preliminary results for Q1 2011/12 (1 April – 30 June), a 23% increase on the year before (€213.1m).

Earnings before interest and tax increased from €1.5m to €10m. Wind turbine producer REpower Systems puts this rise down to higher business volume in its North American and offshore markets.

REpower Systems' intake volume during the quarter dropped to approximately €218m from €323m during the first quarter of 2010/11. As of 30 June, the order backlog included agreements with a total capacity of around 2,328 MW compared to 2,095 MW at the previous year’s record date. This corresponds to a potential revenue volume of around €2.61b.

According to REpower Systems, the figures exclusively comprise the batches bindingly ordered within the scope of project agreements, as well as on-call orders arising from framework agreements.
