Reichhold announces resin price increase

Reichhold has announced a price increase today of US$0.04 per pound on its unsaturated polyester resins and vinyl ester resins. The selling price increase applies to all products sold in the US and Canada, and is effective for all orders shipped on or after 15 April. ‘Recent increases to the cost of styrene and several other raw materials require us to raise our selling prices,’ said Dale MacDonald, vice-president commercial north american composites. ‘These increased costs are driven by a strong export market for petrochemicals and rising feedstock costs. Reichhold continues to work with its suppliers to minimize cost increases and the impact they have on its customers.’

In March, Reichhold also announced a price increase effective for all orders shipped on or after 1 April 2016 in Europe of €80/MT on all unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl ester resins and ancillary products.  ‘This increase is an unavoidable consequence of styrene and other raw materials recent cost rise,’ the company said. ‘We appreciate the understanding of our customers as we continue doing everything possible to limit the impact of rising costs and limited raw material availability on our product pricing and supply.’
