The price increase of €300/tonne takes place on 14 June 2010 and relates to Reichhold's Dion® and Hydrex® vinyl ester resins and any other product containing liquid epoxy resin (LER).
“This price action is nearly exclusively driven by the continuing sharp price increases applied by all suppliers of LER over the past few months as a result of very tight availability of its key feedstock raw materials," says Alberto Piccinotti, Reichhold commercial vice president, Composites EMEA. "The impact on the raw material cost of all vinyl ester resins and other products based on LER is so significant that it requires an immediate specific price adjustment.”
