Plastic waste ‘significant problem’ for UK SMEs

According to a new survey, UK small to medium enterprises (SMEs) feel that that plastic waste is a problem that needs to be dealt with and are implementing their own initiatives to reduce the amount they generate.

Some 83% of businesses answered ‘yes’ to the question ‘do you feel that plastic waste is a problem?’, says the survey conducted by financial company Close Brothers, while 63% have put in place initiatives to reduce their reliance on plastic.

‘With the environmental damage caused by plastic waste becoming increasingly clear, companies are taking it upon themselves to do something about it,’ said Neil Davies, CEO of the firm.
