The German federation of reinforced plastics, AVK – Industrievereinigung Verstärkte Kunststoffe eV, has elected a new Board for a three-year term.

Dr Michael Effing, President of DSM Composite Resins AG in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, was elected Chairman; Heike Wolfangel, Managing Director of Wolfangel GmbH in Ditzingen, Germany, was appointed Vice Chairman. Dr Tilman Schultz, Managing Director of Chemowerk GmbH in Weinstadt, Germany, was confirmed in his office as treasurer.

Other board members are Dr Gerd Esswein, General Manager of Freudenberg Forschungsdienste KG, and Professor Jens Ridzewski, Head of the Plastics Department and Assistant Director of the Materials Division at IMA Materialforschung und Anwendungstechnik GmbH.

As Chair of the Organising Committee for the AVK Conference and the AVK Innovation Award Jury, the Board coopted Dr Rudolf Kleinholz as a non-voting member.

Hexagon Composites ASA has appointed Jack Schimenti as President of Lincoln Composites. He has been acting President since April 2010. Schimenti has been with Lincoln Composites since late 2005 holding positions in business development, manufacturing, and most recently Vice President Operations.

Lincoln Composites, located in Nebraska, USA, designs, tests and manufactures composite pressure tanks and provides natural gas and hydrogen storage and transport solutions to the vehicle industry. Lincoln Composites is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hexagon Composites.
