Partnership focuses on new aerospace materials

Teijin Limited has signed a long-term agreement to supply Safran SA with its composite materials aimed at the aerospace industry.

Teijin has been supplying high-performance materials to Safran for the last 25 years, but this contract establishes the frame for the supply of Teijin’s materials used to make equipment parts for new generation aircrafts, the companies say.

Plans are for initials materials to be manufactured by US-based Renegade Materials Corporation, a prepreg supplier specialized in high temperature resistant resin and non-toxic polyimide pre-preg materials, which Teijin acquired in 2019.

‘Safran expects to reach new steps in aeronautical equipment performance and competitive-ness, thanks to the innovation capacity of Teijin in high-performance materials,’ said Safran vice president, Thierry Viguier.
